Should you have maternity photos taken?
My answer will always be yes, and not just because I’m a maternity photographer.

My answer will always be yes, and not just because I’m a maternity photographer.
I didn’t have my own maternity photos taken with my first child, and I absolutely wish that I had.
It’s such a unique and special time, and like most things, it goes by too fast (though, trust me, I know it doesn’t always feel like that when you’re in the middle of it!)
My reasons for not doing it were like many that may have crossed your mind, mainly I just didn’t feel like one of those beautiful, glowing pregnant people!
But I wish I would have focused on the reasons for doing it…
That it would have been the last photos I had with just my husband, and probably the pup (who rarely makes the photo cut anymore, sorry Harper!)
That it would have captured how excited and in love we were with this baby girl of ours we hadn’t even met yet.
That I would have had those photos to show to my daughter, who is now old enough to love looking at “old” photos of us from before she was born.
It’s a moment in time, that you’ll want to be able to look back at and share.
You better believe I’m having them done this time around, not just once but twice!
Fall Maternity Session in Columbus, Ohio
Maternity sessions are a great way to document that exciting time before baby arrives.

I love to capture the connection between the two of you and the anticipation for your newborn’s arrival in this stage!
This maternity session was actually in late November and pretty darn cold- but with these two and that gorgeous golden hour light you would never know.
